On Mother’s Day, we pause to honor and celebrate the women who have given us so much through their care, encouragement, and love.

No matter where she lives, every mother wants the same thing for her child: to be healthy and to survive.

A mother holds her newborn baby in Liberia. Keyara's Gift covered the cost of her C-section so both could receive the care they needed.

The young mother in this photo is the mom of one of our sponsored students. In April, she needed an emergency C-section, and Keyara’s Gift stepped in to cover the cost so she and her baby could receive the care that saved their lives. We’re so grateful that today they are both home and healthy.

This is the reality many families face in Liberia.

Mothers face overwhelming obstacles in raising healthy children. Limited infrastructure, a shortage of medical resources, and the daily weight of poverty mean that even basic healthcare can be difficult to access. Malaria and diarrheal disease are still among the most common causes of death. Without quick access to care, illnesses can become life-threatening.

Liberia’s healthcare system operates on a pay-as-you-go model. By the time a family has paid to get to the clinic, to be seen, and for lab work, there is often little or nothing left for the medication or treatment itself.

Through our longstanding partnership with ELWA Hospital, Keyara’s Gift steps in to cover those costs so students can receive care when they need it, not when they can afford it. Each situation is first reviewed by our caseworkers, who help determine the need and approve the care.

In the fall, many of you helped cover school registration fees, uniforms, and supplies for 123 students. Our Mother’s Day campaign builds on that support by helping provide access to medical care for these same students and their families.

In place of, or in addition to, flowers this year, you can choose a meaningful way to honor someone you care about:

🌸Bouquet of Care

Supports vision and dental needs, including glasses, exams, and treatment that relieves pain so students can fully engage in school.

Suggested gift: $50–$100

🌻Bouquet of Relief

Helps cover a clinic visit, testing, and medications so illnesses can be treated early.

Suggested gift: $30-$50

🌼Bouquet of Healing

Provides funding for urgent or more advanced care, including surgery, when a student’s condition requires it.

Suggested gift: $100–$150

Once you donate, you can create a digital card for the woman you choose to honor. It will be sent on Mother’s Day, May 10, letting her know a gift was made in her honor to help a child in Liberia receive the care they need.

Thank you for being part of what God is doing through Keyara’s Gift. Your generosity continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of these students and their families.

A mother’s love looks the same all over the world. This is a simple way to honor yours while helping another.

With gratitude,
